CSIRO - Fast Quality Control

BSL is one of the few companies globally to incorporate Australia’s Fabric Assurance by Simple Testing to ensure the world-class quality of every product.

Fabric assurance by Simple Testing provides apparel manufacturers with enough information to improvise and take corrective actions during the process.

Quality Consciousness

BSL’s quality standards have set the benchmark in the textile industry worldwide.

The focus on maintaining quality goes beyond the Quality Control department; it is also sewn in every manufacturing process. Experts and skilled technical managers in each department are committed to maintaining and pushing the boundaries of quality standards to compete in today’s global market.

Each fiber, yarn, dye, and chemical is meticulously tested before entering the manufacturing process, and every stage of the production line has its own set of comprehensive monitoring systems.

Dyes are evaluated for strength, sublimation, dispersion, washing and light fastness properties. Chemicals and auxiliaries are tested for physical state purity, specific gravity, amine value, cloud point, padding and boiling point.

The fibers (wool, polyester, viscose tops and special fiber) are tested to check the fiber micron (fiber diameter), fiber bundle strength, moisture regain percentage, finish percentage (as per WTO standards and specifications).

At the lab, the micron is checked on the Wira Fiber Fineness Meter from the UK and is certified by the Interwool lab of Brussels. The Polyester Viscose and Cotton Yarns are also tested thoroughly.

When each material surpasses the stringent tests and the standard specifications, it is processed for the production line.

In-Process Testing

Every batch is tested for wrapping gm/mtr and Uster percentage after combing at the 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th passage of Gilling & Roving.

The yarn is checked on the Zellweger Uster Tester-3 and Uster Classimat II, Switzerland, to ensure the consistency in yarn quality conforms to the norms of Uster statistics.

All finished fabrics are tested per international standards.

The tests include the following:

1-Residual Shrinkage 2-Tensile Strength 3-Pilling 4-CRA 5-Drape and Fastness to Light Washing 6-Rubbing as per ASTM and BIS standards
